Sign Up Now for Legal Observer Training

The training will be held on July 12th at 10:00 a.m. You must submit an application in advance to participate. Contact nlglocc@proton.me for an application form.

Legal Observers are volunteers trained by the National Lawyers Guild who attend protests, marches or other actions to:

  • Monitor, observe, and document government conduct against First Amendment-protected activity,

  • Provide arrest support for protesters on the ground and help support teams track and help arrested folks, and

  • Empower activists and serve as a deterrent to unconstitutional behavior by law enforcement.

Legal Observers are often legal workers, law students, and lawyers, but anyone who is able to perform the duties and uphold the values of the National Lawyers Guild can be a Legal Observer, including organizers, activists, and community members.

To become a Legal Observer, you will need to complete an application which must be received one week prior to the training (no walk-ins). Contact nlglocc@proton.me for an application form.

Sign Up Now to Volunteer at the Mid-State Fair Booth

Click here to sign up for a shift at this year’s fair.

Thank you for helping staff this year's booth. You are so important to the success and visibility of the Democratic Party!  Do sign up for more than one shift.  Don't sign up for more than one shift on any one day. Do sign up for the night shift if you can keep your eyes open until 10 p.m.

We have scheduled a special in-person training on de-escalation, specifically geared towards staffing the booth.  It is going to be on Wednesday, 6/25/25.  It is really important for past volunteers to come and share their experiences, so we can learn from real life scenarios.

No Kings Day: Protect Our Democracy

  • Corner of El Camino Real & Morro Road (Hwy 41) (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Demonstration: Protect Our Democracy
This is the North San Luis Obispo County event in the "No Kings" national mass mobilization. We'll be opposing the outrageous assaults on our constitution, civil rights and the rule of law by demonstrating on the four corners and adjacent sidewalks of the main downtown Atascadero intersection of El Camino Real and Morro Road/Highway 41. There may also be a subsequent march downtown for anyone who wishes to do more.
Car Rally: Stand Together
Don't want to be on the street? Drive by instead! Make your vehicle into a rolling protest sign and cruise along El Camino Real, honking and waving.
Food Drive: Take Care of Each Other
We'll also be collecting non-perishable food items to support the Atascadero Food Pantry ALF.
Registration isn't necessary, but gives organizers a rough headcount and you access to any updates.

Kick Out the Clowns - End the Greatest Shit Show on Earth!

Kick Out the Clowns - End the Greatest Shit Show on Earth!

When you elect clowns, they don’t become leaders. The country becomes a circus. 🤡

On June 14, Donald Trump will honor himself with a four-mile military parade in our nation’s capitol. Trump’s tacky parade was inspired by dictators he idolizes, and will cost taxpayers nearly $100 million.

Organizer and strategist Daniel Hunter has written that “Humor is important for our psyches — and to take fascists down a notch[…] Humor is key for morale and exposing the vulnerability of the strongman image.” This is where the ridiculous meets the resistance—and where the future is on the line.

June 14 is our chance to reflect the absurdity of the MAGA regime and the clowns who lead it. To meet this moment, Women’s March will host community circuses nationwide—bold, creative actions that mirror the chaos MAGA has sown across the country. Together, we’ll set a national record for the most circuses held in a single day while we simultaneously refuse to celebrate a petty clown who desperately wants to be seen as strong. We won’t stop until we build the country we all deserve.

Our grassroots street circuses turn satire into resistance and reclaim the big tent for democracy.

No Kings! Cambria Callithump

  • Cambria Drive & Main Street Cambria, CA 93428 (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/787055/

About this event
In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. NO KINGS is a national day of action and mass mobilization in response to increasing authoritarian excesses and corruption from Trump and his allies. We’ve watched as they’ve cracked down on free speech, detained people for their political views, threatened to deport American citizens, and defied the courts. They’ve done this all while continuing to serve and enrich their billionaire allies.

On Saturday, June 14, we’re taking to the streets nationwide. We’re not gathering to feed his ego. We’re building a movement that leaves him behind.

The flag doesn’t belong to Donald Trump. It belongs to us. We’re not watching history happen. We’re making it.

On June 14th, we’re showing up everywhere he isn’t—to say no thrones, no crowns, no kings. Check out nokings.org for more information.

In Cambria we are coming together for a Callithump - a loud boisterous gathering - to say No Kings! loud and clear! Bring your signs, flags and your noisemakers to Main Street and Cambria Drive. You can participate by lining the sidewalks with your signs and gear or cruising the street in your decorated vehicle. Let's make some noise to let everyone know our community does not suffer kings or fools!

A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. Please be safe and help each other to be safe. Obey all traffic rules.

Peaceful D-Day Protest

Peaceful D-Day Protest

Two generations ago, Americans rose up to crush fascism abroad. They risked everything — and many gave their lives — to defend freedom.

Today, that same threat is rising again — not in Europe, but here at home. A fascist movement, led by Trump and his oligarchy, seeks to dismantle the very democracy our veterans fought to protect.

We honor their sacrifice not with words, but with action.

Our future — and the legacy of those who fought before us — depends on what we do now.

It's time to rise up. It's time to say NO to Trump, NO to tyranny, and NO to oligarchy.

Join us in defending democracy. Stand up. Speak out. Fight back.

History is watching. What side will you be on?

Resistance Lab - sign up now for the June 1st Virtual Lab - https://www.pramilaforcongress.com/the-resistance-lab

Sign ups are required for this event! Sign up HERE for the June 1st Resistance Lab https://www.pramilaforcongress.com/the-resistance-lab

The Resistance Lab is a series of trainings that are developed specifically for this moment. We look at how non-violent movements around the world have responded to leaders who seize power in authoritarian ways and the most effective tools and tactics to utilize in these moments. We offer frameworks to understand this moment at home, and incorporate interactive conversation with others to help create community and build our resistance movement.

The Resistance Lab was developed with experts who have researched and studied democratic backsliding around the world as well as in the United States and the non-violent movements that have emerged to challenge those authoritarian leaders. We also draw from many toolkits for effective tactics and frameworks as well as from Pramila’s own background leading successful organizing movements for economic and social justice for two decades.

Our goals are to help people understand how democracies fall and the most effective resistance movements that have challenged authoritarians and dictators; to turn anger, fear and frustration into action in the short-term while also preparing for a coordinated resistance movement for the longer term; and to build community across the country that can help grow our movement. At the end of the day, we want to get people strike-ready and street-ready and make sure we protect our people, our freedoms and our democracy.

With Trump and his MAGA billionaires doubling down on their attacks on the economic livelihoods of people to thrive and on our democracy, we can’t afford to sit this moment out. This is about building real power together. And it starts with you.
