Have a Plan for AFTER the No Kings III Rally
No Kings III is Saturday, March 28. Please pick a rally and go!
Then, on Sunday, please think about how to put that righteous anger, that burning passion, that constant worry about our communities, our country and our world into long-term action.
Thousands of us are going to be in the streets tomorrow throughout SLO County and Santa Maria for this historic day of protest.
Like the mass rallies of 2025 in Downtown SLO, we expect the rallies tomorrow to be exciting and fun. They’re an important collective expression of our growing discontent with – and opposition to – Trump’s fascism. This word is appropriate because it’s true.
Don’t let anyone try to tell you your presence at a rally doesn’t matter, that it isn’t important, that it means nothing. Just know they’re wrong and you’re right. And that you recognize the moment and are there to meet it.
There’s an unmistakable spirituality, a certain soulfulness, in gathering and communally bearing witness to history. Americans have done this since our founding, and we’ll do it again tomorrow. It’s in our DNA.
The SLO County Democratic Party is deeply grateful to everyone who’s put so much effort and energy into planning and preparing for No Kings III rallies throughout the Central Coast. Thank you.
But there’s more to it. Please consider ways to carry forward the passion you may feel tomorrow, Saturday, March 28, into Sunday, March 30 – and every day after that.
Our job won’t be done until we rid this nation of maga, Trump’s wars, ICE mayhem, incompetence, corruption and the sickening protection of the pedophile Epstein Class. We won’t be finished until peace, justice and honest government become normal again.
The SLOCDP will have a booth at the Downtown SLO Rally, where you’ll find local volunteers – your friends and neighbors – who work every day trying to bring our values of decency, honor, justice, fairness and respect for democracy into local elective offices at every level.
Far too many magas and election deniers occupy elected seats in SLO County, where their fetid energy festers and creeps upward into political power nationally. We’re doing something about that right here at home.
The SLO County Democratic Party is not the same as the national Democratic Party or its leaders. We’re not “big money,” nor are we “corporate.” We have to beg for donations like every non-profit.
We don’t think much of our party’s milquetoast, consultant-driven, special-interest-owned national leadership at the DNC or in Congress. We want change at the top, too. To be clear, we’re talking about our party’s ossified elite, not our local reps. We like them.
The SLOCDP is simply a bunch of local volunteers, friends and neighbors trying to do something in SLO County about this dark national nightmare.
Please drop by our booth tomorrow and consider learning about our amazing local Democratic Clubs: Paso Robles Dems, Atascadero Dems, Dems of SLO, El Moro Dems, South County Dems, Cal Poly Dems and Cuesta College Dems.
These are the local volunteers on the ground putting their passion into action. Please join us in the struggle to Make America Normal Again.
Yours in defense of our democracy,
Tom Fulks
Chair, SLOCDP
