SLOCDP Volunteers Meeting

  • SLOCDP Headquarters 75 Higuera Suite 110 SLO, CA (map)

This is a crucial meeting for both regular volunteers and those just getting started. It is an opportunity to share your feedback, exchange ideas, and build our community by getting to know one another.

We have started the new year strong, and there is much work ahead. Our supervisor candidates, Jim Dantona (District 2) and Jimmy Paulding (District 4), are already hitting the ground running and need our help. Our primary role this year will be supporting these campaigns, as well as candidates running for school boards and city councils throughout SLO County.

While we will continue to assist grassroots organizations with our calendar, sign-making for rallies, and public outreach, our focus and resources this year will focus on supporting our candidates.

This year, many in our community will face challenges from policies impacting health insurance costs, SNAP, Medicaid, and ICE raids. We plan to continue voter outreach at festivals and through street rallies, postcards, rock painting, and new rubber ducky parties. We will also host open houses to drive Democratic participation, support community groups, organize food drives, and potentially start monthly community potluck dinners.

We look forward to seeing you at SLOCDP HQ. Even if you can only stop by briefly to say Happy New Year, we would love to see you there.
